Também integrada no Campus, realizar-se-á uma masterclass com Dirk Meier no Porto.

MASTERCLASS
A LOOK AT THE ART & SCIENCE OF DIGITAL FILM
Sexta-feira, 1 de Junho, 17h às 19h, Entrada Livre, Porto
Auditório da Escola Superior de Educação - Instituto Politécnico do Porto
Colorist and post production consultant Dirk Meier takes you on a trip through the short history of digital filmmaking starting just a little before the still very familiar advent of high definition digital cameras. He stops at some remarkable events and shows that it's still about the art and artists behind the tools and that Europe has no reason to hide behind Hollywood, certainly not artistically but also not technically.
During the lecture he will talk about film-productions like Russian Ark, Slumdog Millionaire and AntiChrist, to illustrate how the artistic vision of some very talented filmmakers has driven the development and enhancement of digital cameras, recording and postproduction tools.
Along these technical advancements he will explain some of the very basic digital terms as well as myths still often misused and misunderstood. And then not at least show some examples from AntiChrist and talk about the creative process of color-grading.
And certainly stereo 3D will not be missed with some comments of someone still not convinced after working on four international productions and participating in some tests already in 2003.
